A middle school teacher in Georgia earns around $51,000 yearly, on average. It’s enough to get by, but most teachers have a side hustle to bolster their income–whether it be camp counseling, tutoring, or drug and firearm muling.
Georgia deputies raided a middle school teacher’s home and seized guns and $6 million in cocaine and heroin, the NY Post. Well, $6,209,280, to be exact.
The teacher Karla Alvarez, 28, and two others are facing drug trafficking and gun charges following Thursday’s drug bust by local authorities in Hall County.
Fox 5 Atlanta reported Friday that Alvarez is a teacher at Chestatee Middle School Academy in Gainesville. She also coaches the girls soccer team. She teaches Spanish, according to the school’s website.
“I’ve worked drugs and gangs for a long time and it was one of the larger cocaine seizures I’ve ever seen,” Hall County Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Ware said, according to the station.
After executing a search warrant, investigators found 61 kilos of cocaine, a kilo of heroin, guns and cash in the home.
Alvarez is facing charges of trafficking and possessing with the intent to distribute cocaine and heroin as well as two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Looks like the kids are going to be enjoying movies in class for the rest of the school year. I suggest the film Blow.
