Tim Kennedy was an MMA fighter in the UFC and Strikeforce until he retired in January. But before his fighting career, he was a Ranger, Green Beret, and Special Forces sniper. He has completed tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other locations around the planet. Kennedy was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom multiple times. He has won several military awards including the Army’s Bronze Star Medal with V device, which was awarded for valor under fire. Now, Tim Kennedy is going back to fight for his country once again.
The ex-UFC middleweight re-enlisted in the U.S. Army Special Forces and he thanks President Donald Trump for persuading him to do so. While Kennedy disagrees with some of President Trump’s politics, he recognizes that the POTUS “likes to win.” The former mixed martial artist mostly is impressed by President Trump’s selections. Kennedy is a huge fan of Secretary of Defense Gen. James Mattis and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster. He is also in awe of the Mother of All Bombs.
“I’m pumped to work for those guys,” Kennedy said.
The 37-year-old former fighter deploys within the next couple of weeks. He could not tell TMZ exactly where he’s going, but said “it’s a dangerous place and he’ll be there to fight terrorists.”
Kennedy posting a warning to the Islamic State on his Instagram with the very aggressive photo:
If you are lucky enough to kill a Special Forces operator, the possibility of us dropping the biggest non-nuclear bomb ever made on you should be the least of your concerns. There is a vengeance and wrath associated with the loss of one of our brothers. May God have mercy on your soul because we are coming and we will have none to give.
